Cr14Si2WNbVNAl, Cr16Si2WNbVNAl and Cr18Si2WNbVNAl as well as commercial 12% chromium steels EP 823 and EI 852 were proposed. Static corrosion tests in lead containing 2·10-2 mass % and ≈ 10-4-10-5 mass % oxygen were conducted at 750оC within 500 and 1000 hours. The best results in terms of corrosion resistance under most severe conditions of testing (at 2·10 -2 mass % oxygen in lead) were acquired for affected steels Cr18Si2WNbVNAl and Cr16Si2WNbVNAl. The corrosion-affected zone in these samples was an order of magnitude less than the one in the commercial steel EP 823 considered to be a feasible cladding material for fuel element of BREST-reactor. 5.
